Interpretation

We offer quality services in simultaneous, consecutive as well as liaison interpreting. Simultaneous interpreting is generally recommended for conferences or meetings with a relatively large number of participants, where more than two languages will be used. The interpreters with the aid of required equipment render the message in real time.  Even in case of virtual meeting, you can still make use of it if you have partners like Sopodiva who do offer remote interpretation form meeting hold on platforms like Kudo, Zoom etc. In Consecutive Interpreting, the speaker takes the floor for a few minutes and pauses for the interpreter to render the message in the other language. This mode may be used during closed-sessions, seminars or meetings with a small number of participants, where only one language is used.

Escort and Liaison Interpreting can also be provided for delegations.

Sopodiva Training Centre works with a team of trained and qualified language personnel some of whom are certified by the Pan-African Masters Consortium for Interpretation and Translation (PAMCIT) and others by the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC). Languages

We provide professionals in the four working languages of the African Union, ARABIC, ENGLISH, FRENCH AND PORTUGUESE. However, through our strong partnerships, experts in other languages can also be arranged.

Rental of Equipment

Sopodiva Training Centre also rents out Simultaneous Interpretation System (SIS) for seminars and conferences at affordable prices. These include microphones, headsets, public address systems, Interpretation booths and consuls. We currently have the capacity to service conferences with up to 1000 participants.
